I wrote the book on using Letters of Credit for Union Carbide Electronics Company back in 1981. At that time I was International Sales Manager and we just started doing export sales to China, Korea, and, Japan. My job was to teach our people how to use Letters of Credit to assure we would be paid by the customer in these third world countries.
